07 EVIL SPAIN

There was a revolution
Back in ‘74
I’m proud to say no blood was spilled
Well, at least hardly any
What difference does it make?
What counts is the final account
Now take a look at our neighbours
Just one year later
Everything went out of control
There were drugs and prostitution
On the streets and in the lanes
Soddom and Gomorrha
In evil Spain

Once I had to travel east
For a business affair
I stayed at a roadside motel
I got to talk to some of the locals
Who said they spoke my language
But they didn’t understand when I asked,
“Do you believe in Mother Mary
And the Immaculate Conception;
Do you confess your sins?”
Even faith in that country
Is going down the drain
There ain’t no sense of innocence
In evil Spain

When I was driving back
I heard a terrible sound
And realized I’d lost my exhaust
So I stopped to pick it up
Headed for the next garage
And showed it to the person in charge
The man doesn’t want my money
And says there’s nothing he can do
I’d better drive home and do it slow
If I ever gotta go there again
I’ll take the train
And lock the doors like grandma said
In evil Spain

We’ve got a history of glory
Of bravery and fame
Our ships sailed the seven seas
Now our beaches may be raided
Our woods may be in flames
The past is the present we feel
Can’t you hear it in this singer
And the sorrow in her voice
How can you say it brings you down?
If all you want is fun
To be easily entertained
You better cross the border
To evil Spain
