03 THE NEIGHBOUR

My neighbour had a cherry tree
He never offered any cherries to me
The tree, it grew, it grew out of hand
But not a single cherry fell on my plot of land

One night when it was chilly
I took an axe off a shelf called Billy
I executed the golden chop
The neighbour lay asleep when that thing dropped

Rivals or friends
On property so much depends
If I had wings
I’d spit on all our earthly things

My neighbour’s always lucky
He’s got a boat and a brand new buggy
A sexy loving spouse
Now take a look at the hag in my own house

The neighbour’s name is Jim
But that don’t matter ‘cause I never talk to him
I don’t even look his way
Some Jim won’t spoil my day

Rivals or...

My neighbour acts suspicious
He’s grown a beard and his dog looks vicious
I’m wondering where he’s at
Well, I’m sure it’s either this or that

Guess I gotta be prepared
For the worst – get a gun, say a prayer
Turn my sweet home into a bunker
Just in case the neighbour comes to conquer

My neighbour kept hid
Till the day that he finally did
The most evil thing he could
He’s moving to another neighbourhood
